Sado Self-Drive Touring with Kodo—Exploring Ryotsu and Maehama
After the mountains and forests, it’s time for a change of scene. We’re handing over to Ryoma Tsurumi’s team of four, who will take you on a drive from the gateway to Sado, Ryotsu Port, heading south along the coast to the Maehama area. Team Tsurumi will show you the peaceful, beautiful coast and some especially picturesque spots.
They’ll end up at the village that is like a hometown to many Kodo members: Kakinoura, where Kodo Apprentice Centre is located.
Synopsis of the video:
We are on the last leg of our drive around Sado island!
We will be introducing you to some of the most scenic spots and some of the best food on the island, before taking you to Kodo’s training center!
The tour starts at Ryotsu Port, then the team takes us along on a drive along Sado’s East Coast Line (Maehama Jiku), stopping at the Himezaki Lighthouse and Akagame Kazashima Nagisa Park.
Coffee lovers are sure to enjoy discovering three of Sado Island’s coffee spots: Cafe Mikawa, Oni Cafe and maSani Coffee. The tour wraps up at the Kodo Village in Ogi, where the drummers live and train.
Which of these places would you like to visit the most and why?
